Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, it is safer that way. Call the dispatch office on +40 752 917 592 at any time: it is open 24/7.
Can I book online?
No. Bookings are taken by phone only, so we can tell you straight away whether seats are left on the boat you want.
How do I pay?
The dispatch office tells you how to pay when you book.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes, call the dispatch office. It will also tell you the cancellation and change conditions.

Boarding and luggage
How early should I be at the pier?
Boarding starts 15 minutes before departure. If you are driving in from elsewhere in Romania, allow extra time for traffic or roadworks.
Which pier do I board at?
In Tulcea we use the Port Aval and Sindicate piers, and in Sulina the ANL and Town Hall piers. We agree which one you use when you book, whatever suits you best.
What happens if I am late?
Call the dispatch office straight away. If a booked passenger has not arrived we call them and do our best so they do not miss the boat, but we cannot wait long, as passengers are waiting at the next stops too.
How much luggage can I take?
One bag of up to 20 kg is included, and luggage has dedicated space on board. Excess is charged separately. For bulky luggage (bicycles, fishing gear) we arrange special trips; please mention it when you book.
Where can I leave my car in Tulcea?
There is a guarded car park next to the Port Aval pier, at 3 Intrarea Marmurei St., for 30 lei a day. If you leave from the Sindicate pier, the public car park at the Trade Unions House is free. You will not need a car in Sulina: the town is easy to explore on foot.
On the way
How long does the trip take?
About 90 minutes between Tulcea and Sulina, depending on wind, current and the stops requested along the way.
Can I get off at Crișan or another village on the way?
Yes. On request the boat stops at Partizani, Maliuc, Gorgova and Crișan and at any other pier where it can moor safely, including the private piers of hotels and guesthouses. Tell us when you book where you get on and off.
Do I have to wear a life jacket?
Yes. Under maritime law, life jackets are worn for the whole trip. There is one on board for every passenger.
Can I travel with children or pets?
Yes. Children aged 2 and under travel free; the dispatch office will tell you the fare for older children. If you are bringing a pet, tell us when you book and we will confirm whether it is possible.
What happens in bad weather?
In strong wind or thick fog the authorities may stop small boats from sailing. If a departure cannot go ahead, we call you and offer the next possible trip.
