Terms and travel conditions

The rules for Travel Delta Star scheduled boats and private transfers between Tulcea and Sulina, kept short and clear.

1. Who carries you

The boats are operated by SC Travel Delta Star SRL, VAT ID RO33982696, Trade Reg. No. J36/12/16.01.2015, registered at Strada a II-a nr. 282, Sulina, Tulcea County, Romania. The dispatch office answers 24/7 on 0752 917 592.

2. Booking

  • Seats are booked by phone only, with the dispatch office. Your booking is confirmed during the call.
  • When you book, tell us the date, the departure time, how many of you there are and where you get on and off. We agree the boarding pier with you at the same time.
  • To cancel or change a booking, call the dispatch office, which will also tell you the conditions.

3. Fares and payment

  • Fares are those shown on the Timetable and fares page on the day you travel, in Romanian lei, per person, each way.
  • The dispatch office tells you how to pay when you book.
  • Group and travel agency fares are agreed by phone. The price of a private transfer is agreed when you book, for the whole boat.

4. Boarding

  • Boarding starts 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you are running late, call the dispatch office. We try to wait, but the boat has to leave on time for passengers at the other stops.
  • Between Tulcea and Sulina the boat only stops on request, if you said when booking that you are getting on or off there: at Partizani, Maliuc, Gorgova, Crișan or any other pier where it can moor safely, including the private piers of hotels and guesthouses.

5. Luggage

  • Each ticket includes one bag of up to 20 kg. Luggage has dedicated space on board.
  • Excess luggage is charged separately. For bulky luggage (such as bicycles or fishing gear) we arrange special trips; please mention it when you book.
  • Keep documents, money and valuables with you.
  • Flammable, explosive or other dangerous goods are not carried.

6. Safety on board

  • Life jackets are worn for the whole trip, as maritime law requires. We provide them.
  • Passengers follow the crew's instructions, especially when boarding, leaving the boat and while under way.
  • Smoking is not allowed on board.
  • The crew may refuse to board anyone who puts other passengers at risk.

7. Children and pets

  • Children travel with an adult. Children aged 2 and under travel free; the dispatch office will tell you the fare for older children.
  • Please mention pets when you book; the dispatch office will confirm whether they can travel on your chosen boat.

8. Weather, delays and cancellations

  • In strong wind, fog or other dangerous conditions the authorities may restrict navigation and the skipper may delay or cancel a trip. Passenger safety comes first.
  • If a trip is delayed or cancelled, we call you on the number you gave when booking and offer the next possible departure.
  • The journey time of about 90 minutes is approximate: wind, current and request stops can change it.

9. Complaints

If something was not right, tell us by phone or write to contact@traveldeltastar.ro. For disputes we cannot settle together, you can use alternative dispute resolution (SAL) through ANPC, the Romanian consumer protection authority.

10. Changes

We may update these conditions, for example when the timetable or the on-board rules change. The version published here on the day you travel applies.
